Well, we took the kiddo's to Cali last month. It was a quick trip, but lots of fun. The day we got there we went to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party at California Adventure. They reopen the park for four hours in the evening for those who have bought tickets. It was fun, and not too crowded so we got to ride all the rides that we wanted to and the kids got to trick or treat in their costumes. The following day we spent the entire day at Disneyland - it was HOT, and turned into a ponytail day fast. Of course, we still had a blast. The following day we headed to San Diego and took the kids to the San Diego Zoo. Again - it was HOT. I had a lovely allergy attack the entire day - but I was a trooper for the kids. We swung by the beach after the zoo for a quick peek. That night we went to see the San Diego Temple - holy crasnotch, it is BEAUTIFUL. We were driving down the freeway (it was dark) and you come around this bend, and there it is just glowing against the dark sky. Got me a bit choked up. The next morning we hit the beach again, let the kids splash a bit, and then headed home. As I said, quick trip, but still fun. Here's LOTS of pics, and a few things I learned.

Don't waste time primping in the morning for a day at Disneyland.
Mason doesn't like the Tower of Terror.
Charly isn't sure if she likes the Tower of Terror.
One hot dog in Disneyland still costs $15.00.
Porter does not like Mickey Mouse.
Porter likes Minnie Mouse.
The freeway system in LA is insane.
The drivers in LA are insane. And there are way too many of them.
The freeway system in San Diego is insane. How do people find their way around this place?
Apparently nobody in San Diego has kids because nobody in the WALMART had any patience for ours. After Mason did one quick run around a center isle display I thought for sure Dustin and the 75 year old German woman were going to duke it out!! However, there were just a few not so friendly words passed between the two of them.
The San Diego Temple is absolutely stunning in person (or building) - you get the point.
San Diego is a very foggy city.

Oh, funny words from my six year old . . .
So Charly has been wanting permission to go onto a website that I'm not so fond of. It is suppose to be a kids site, but I think it's more for teens. Well yesterday we were having a bit of a mom and daughter chat and she said, "Not letting your kids go on a website that doesn't say bad words is not protecting them, it's just mean." Oh man, I had to laugh. It was pretty darn cute. Sometimes protecting our kids does seem mean (to them) but if it keeps them from yuck, then I'm proud to be a mean mom.

First Grade - here we come!!
Oh, they just grow up so fast, it is SO sad!! Charly was so excited for her first day of first grade. She could not wait to eat lunch at school - that was where the majority of her excitement lived. She even put herself to bed the night before. It was the sweetest thing, ever. I caught her kneeling beside her bed, alone. No one told her to do it, it was precious!! She even knocked her tooth loose (first loose tooth) the night before by accidentally shoving her fork too hard into her tooth. She refuses to let us pull it out, she is patiently waiting for it to move out on its own. She doesn't talk much about her feelings after starting school (she's too much like her dad in that way), but she has filled me in on her disappointment of not having homework yet. She said, she wants her "study to do." Oh, how nice if that would last through high school. Anyway, I do miss her during the day, but yet it is a bit more peaceful with her gone all day, as there is no one here driving Mason insane. Oh, I love this Charly girl!!

We're going Private!!
Okay, I'm joining the rest of the paranoid world, and will be setting my blog to private. I have a lot of e-mail addresses to invite the majority of my peeps. However, if you want to be viewin' my blog you might want to verify that I do have your e-mail address. Shannon W. and Wendi B. - I know for sure that I DO NOT have e-mail addresses for you guys. And Wendi, my time to view your blog has expired - you have to re-invite me if you would like to do so. Thanks everybody. I'll be making the change in about a week or so.

Long Time No Talk!!
Well, it has been a while. What can I say? School got the best of me and took up all my time. It was a fast paced semester, but I managed to keep my all A's record!! :) So, this is just a quick summer time update - because of school we haven't done anything too majorly fun, but we will hopefully be going camping next weekend. So anyway here goes:
Mason got his tonsils and adenoids taken out a couple months ago. It was not a pleasant experience. Well, actually, everything went fine until he had to wake up from anesthesia, then it was all down hill. He cried and screamed and wouldn't eat the dang popsicle that the nurse was forcing him to eat before she would say he could go home. Finally the doc came in and he gave permission for us to leave. Mason slept the whole way home and had two popsicles when we got home, I knew he would do that, just couldn't convince the nurse. So it was a rough two weeks, but we are back to normal and he is back to his busy self.
What kid doesn't want to have a lemonade stand??? Charly recruited her brother and two neighbor friends and set up their little stand by the pool. They actually ended up making about three dollars. Too cute.
The boys (and often times, Charly, too) love to dump their toys out and make boat rides - this is the boys taking turns pushing the "boat." It's cute, it makes them happy, so therefore, it makes mom happy.
Then lastly we've gotten to spend a bit more time with my little cute nephew Bryton. He wasn't a happy camper when I would get up and walk away from him, but Porter kept trying to sit close to him and give him kisses, so I had to catch a pic.
